How to Disable or Remove Add-ons in Firefox and Chrome


                            You might be getting unwanted toolbars on the top when you open your Internet browsers. Here are the few ways to disable the toolbars.

For Firefox
How to disable extensions, themes, and plugins 

Disabling an add-on will turn it off without removing it:
  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance or Plugins panel.
  3. Select the add-on you wish to disable.
  4. Click its Disable button.
  5. Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
To re-enable the add-on, find it in the list of Add-ons and click Enable, then restart Firefox if required.

How to remove extensions and themes
  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance panel.
  3. Select the add-on you wish to remove.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart. 
How to uninstall plugins

Most plugins come with their own uninstallation utilities. For help uninstalling a certain plugin, go to the list of plugins articles and select the article for the plugin you want to uninstall.

For Chrome 

Uninstall an extension to remove it completely from the browser:
  1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Click Tools.
  3. Select Extensions.
  4. Click the trash can icon Remove an extension from Chrome by the extension you'd like to completely remove.
  5. A confirmation dialog appears, click Remove.
You can also temporarily turn off an extension by disabling it on the Extensions page.
